The biggest selling vehicle of all time and you’ve probably never even heard of it. In 2017 Honda surpassed the 100-million mark in production of the Super Cub. First came the C100, then the C50, C70 and C90. There has also been the CT110, the Press Cub, the Little Cub and various other sub categories but the rarest and least well known of these is this, the C65.
Only in production for 4 years from 1965 to 68, the C65 came with a 63cc engine which delivered a top speed of 65kph – hence the name. How rare is it? I can’t give you a number but last year we had an enquiry from Australia from someone who was looking for parts for his.
This is a 1967 model in grey with white side covers and is completely original. It has the two-tone seat, the ignition key on the left side cover, the choke accessible through a gap in the left-side of the leg covers, rear footpegs and a rear rack. The paint is in remarkable condition as is the Monaka (pinch-nosed) muffler.
For any serious Cub collector, or indeed for anyone who is charmed by these wonderful machines, this is a very special find.
