This bike is from 1995 which is the year I first went to Japan. I’d previously been to some dangerous places and Japan seemed like a relatively safe option. However, before I got there the Kobe earthquake occurred and there was the sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway. Suddenly some people were suggesting Japan might not be such a smart move after all.

It was, of course. The best move I ever made. And I’m not just saying that in case my wife reads this. Japan is a remarkable country and it taught me a lot, not least about zen and the art of motorcycle production. Hands down by a country mile Japan makes the best motorcycles in the world and has done for half a century. The Japanese manufacturers are now being pushed by makers in numerous other countries but that in itself is partly because they forced everyone else to raise their game.

Japan has done rather well on the various racing circuits over the years but not all bikes are superbikes. What we have here is a sixties homage bike with a hint of the forties and a nod towards American bling. Underneath the classic, twin-shocked exterior beats an air-cooled, 4-stroke twin cylinder engine that provides a drive as smooth as a politician’s lie.

This is one of the later CD125T’s and has the beautiful chrome tank. The overall condition is really nice with shiny rims and lovely engine. It comes with a single seat and rear rack, lipped fenders and gold badging. It’s 27 years old so not immaculate but super lovely.
