When is a Cub not a Cub? I could ask, when is a Giorno not a Giorno? The answer to both of these is, “When it’s a Giorcub!”
A Giorcub is a hybrid – the body of a Giorno with the engine and gearbox of a Super Cub C50. Why is this important? Well, the Giorno is an elegant looking scooter with a little of the Italian look to it. It was a big seller in Japan. The Cub – well the Cub is legendary. Honda saw a demand for a scootery-looking scooter (as opposed to the bigger wheeled C50) but with versatility and strength provided by the Cub. Hence the Giorcub.
Ours is a 2001 model in really nice condition. Black with grey and two tone seat. It has the retro-styled Giorno dial, cute “nose” air intake and high positioned round headlight.
A lovely little thing, driven by the unsurpassed C50 engine, this is a rare beast in these shores and will proved someone with a fun and stylish runaround.
