The Yamaha Excel is a very cute looking scooter that you just don't see anymore. When it was released in 1986 it won the Japanese Good Design Award. I feel that the speedo itself could have won.
Cute though it may be, it is powered by the same peppy 2-stroke engine as the Jog. In fact, the Excel was made as a kind of luxury version of the Jog. The Jog is all sportiness. The Excel has an anti-vibration mount for the engine and a bottom link for the front suspension. Plush.
In sand and white with a sand seat, black rack and front basket and white basket, this Excel is in tidy condition. Being nearly 40 years old there are some age related marks but overall it is very nice. It would make a wonderful retro-style (actually properly vintage) runaround. Inexpensive to buy, cheap to run and in a couple of years it becomes MOT-and tax-exempt. Cool.
This bike has been put through the NOVA system. Registration can be arranged for a fee of £165, this includes the Dating Certificate, MOT, Registration, UK log book and age related number plate. This process takes approximately 6 weeks.
We can deliver, please confirm your postcode for a quote. Delivery/Collection can take place either after the MOT (while waiting for the log book) or once the log book has been received. The motorcycle cannot be ridden on the public highway until the bike is registered and fitted with its number plate. Road tax & insurance are your responsibility as the new keeper.
Comes with a 3 month warranty if the bike is under 30 years old at the time of the sale. There are companies who offer warranties for Historic bikes online.
A deposit of 30% will secure the bike, we would not ask for further payment until the bike is ready to hand over. If the customer cancels the sale we will refund 50% of the deposit. Please note that if a customer pays through Paypal, we require the customer to pay the Paypal charges. We accept bank transfer or debit card payments at no extra cost to you.
