Description

1993 Yamaha TZR250R.  Beautiful bike, we are excited to meet it.   Arriving January 2026. These photos were taken by our colleagues in Japan. Fresh photos and a video will be taken when it arrives.

There’s nothing like the sound of a 2-stroke and as we march deeper into the future, ever nearer the extinction of the internal combustion engine, it’s a sound we hear less and less.

Back in the late eighties and early nineties, however, two stroke race replicas were a common sight, and right up there with the best was the TZR. Following on from the RD (although a very different bike) and based on the track bike TZ, the TZR provided plenty of zing but with control and cornering balance that made you feel safe – relatively.

First came the 1KT (2MA) in the UK, then in 1989 Yamaha released the 3MA, now with reverse cylinders. Much of the rest of the bike stayed the same. It was still super light and thin, still had the parallel twin. Then the 3XV V-twin, the one we have here.

In Fiat livery, the overall condition is excellent. There is a crack in the fairing below the right footpeg but otherwise the bodywork, rims, etc. are in superb condition.

The TZR was a really great road bike that made you want to thrash it around the back lanes of Britain. Which goes some way towards explaining why you don’t see many these days – a lot of them ended up on their sides. What we have here is a super low-mileage example in beautiful condition. The tank looks stunning and the forks, engine, swingarm, seat, bars and fenders are all lovely.

This bike will be put through the NOVA system. Registration can be arranged for a fee of £165, this includes the Dating Certificate, MOT, Registration, UK log book and age related number plate.

We can deliver, please confirm your postcode for a quote.  Delivery/Collection can take place either after the MOT (while waiting for the log book) or once the log book has been received.  The motorcycle cannot be ridden on the public highway until the bike is registered and fitted with its number plate. Road tax & insurance are your responsibility as the new keeper.

A deposit of 30% will secure the bike, we would not ask for further payment until the bike is ready for collection or delivery.  UK photos and a walkaround video will be taken when it arrives and sent to you.  If you do not like what you see or have changed your mind then we will refund in full at that time.  After acceptance, if the customer cancels the sale we will refund 50% of the deposit. Viewings welcome when the bike arrives.
